Frequently asked questions

Lead times, the design process, our collections, the showroom, pricing, warranty, countertops, and the towns we serve — everything you'd want to know before you start.

The work behind the answers — a finished kitchen, handed over clean.
Do you design and install cabinets, or only sell them?

We do all of it.

Desert Legacy is a full-service cabinet contractor. We design your kitchen or bath with you, supply and verify every part, and install it ourselves — so one team is accountable from the first sketch to the final walkthrough. You're never handed off between a designer, a supplier, and a separate install crew.

Do you supply countertops?

Yes — we supply countertops under the Desert Legacy brand.

Your cabinets and counters come from one accountable source on one coordinated timeline — instead of juggling a separate countertop vendor. Ask us to include countertops when we build your quote.

How long does a kitchen installation take?

A simple, straightforward kitchen usually installs in roughly one day.

Simple homes — typically under about 21 cabinets — install in about a day. Larger or more complex kitchens, custom work, and inset cabinetry can take multiple days. We give you a realistic timeline up front, and because we never start until the full kit is on site, the schedule we quote is the schedule we hold.

Who actually installs my cabinets?

One dedicated installer handles your project start to finish — not a rotating crew that changes day to day.

That single point of accountability means consistent quality, careful work, protected floors, and a person who knows your job from the moment it begins to the final punch-list walkthrough.

Do you offer a warranty on your cabinets?

Yes — our work is covered, and the exact coverage is spelled out in writing in your proposal, alongside the manufacturer warranties the cabinets themselves carry.

Your quote includes the written warranty terms for your chosen collection, so you know exactly what's covered — in writing — before you buy. If something isn't right with our work, tell us and we'll make it right.

What's the difference between Genesis, Legacy, and Prestige?

Three collections, one standard of quality. You step up as far as your project calls for.

Genesis is the one most customers choose — built to the same standard as the other two, with pre-selected finishes rather than a custom palette, and a price that is hard to argue with. Legacy is for anyone who wants more to choose from: real wood in six species, seventeen door styles, fifty-eight finishes. Prestige is the showpiece — fully custom, inset construction, closer to furniture than cabinetry.

How does pricing and quoting work?

Every project is priced to your specific layout, collection, finishes, and any countertops or accessories — there's no single sticker price.

A quote from us is fast and free. Share your plans or measurements, or visit the showroom, and we'll put together a clear, itemized estimate. We'll walk you through exactly what drives the number so there are no surprises later. And with three collections, there's a rung for every budget — Genesis to Prestige.

How long until my cabinets arrive?

Genesis runs under four weeks from order; Legacy and Prestige run about six.

Once your full kit is staged we schedule the install — most simple kitchens go in within about a day. You get a real date up front, and it holds because we never start until every piece is verified on hand.

What areas do you serve in Southern Utah?

We serve St. George, Hurricane, Washington, Cedar City, Ivins, Santa Clara, Kanab, and Toquerville.

That covers the surrounding communities across Washington, Iron, and Kane counties. Our showroom is in St. George at 1552 East Gateway Drive, Suite 5.

Kitchen remodels

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Plan it in two parts: the cabinet order, then a fast install.

Cabinets are built to your selections, so the wait is measured in weeks, not days. Genesis runs under four weeks from order; Legacy and Prestige run about six. We'll give you a real date up front and hold to it. The install itself is the short part: because we never start until every part is verified on hand, a simple kitchen installs in about a day, and larger or more complex kitchens run multi-day. We'll tell you which yours is before you commit.

Do I need a general contractor for a kitchen remodel?

For a cabinet-and-countertop remodel, no — we handle it end to end.

Design, cabinets, counters, and installation are all ours, under one accountable team. If your project is bigger — moved walls, new plumbing or electrical, a whole-room renovation — a general contractor makes sense, and we work cleanly alongside yours: clear scope, a coordinated schedule, and a cabinet package that shows up complete.

Can I stay in my house during the remodel?

Yes — that's typical.

A cabinet-led remodel isn't a gut job. The disruptive window is the install itself, and because we only mobilize once the full kit is verified, it runs without stalls — about a day for simple kitchens. One installer, protected floors, a tidy site, and a punch-list walkthrough at the end.

Do you handle flooring, plumbing, or electrical?

No — we stay in our lane: design, cabinets, countertops, and installation.

That's the heart of the remodel, and owning it completely is why our installs run clean. When your project includes other trades, we coordinate our scope and schedule alongside your general contractor or contractors, so the cabinet side of the job never holds anyone up.
